February 2012: Bruce!
Bruce Barton is a hip English professor, teaching over the hill and down the road from us at Mansfield University. His areas of focus are American literature and creative writing. Bruce creates fascinating seminars for both, frequently re-inventing and challenging his students and himself with new projects and perspectives! His own fiction has been nominated for, and has received, several awards. In his "spare" time, Bruce reads everything from Emerson to Rick Riordan, edgy urban fiction to classic poetry.
This semester, Bruce is teaching the seminar in Literary Studies, a requirement for senior English majors at Mansfield. This year's new course is titled, "Speculative Fiction: Art, Popular Lit, or Caca?"
